Team Annmarie / USA Collision Centers - Light the Night Walk to support to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
It’s that time of year… Time for “Team Annmarie / USA Collision Centers” to get our walking shoes ready as we prepare for the annual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society “Light the Night Walk”.
Giving Back to the Community and Remembering Our Loved Ones
At USA Collision Centers, giving back and serving our community is just part of our way of life. Our staff proudly donates their time and money between many charitable organizations every year including support for Juvenile Diabetes, Leukemia and Lymphoma, the SPCA and various other community fund raising and charitable events .
Joe Sanfillipo III, Chief Operating Officer for USA Collision Centers has been passionately involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) since 2003 when his wife Annmarie (and long time USA Collision Centers staff member) was diagnosed with Leukemia (AML).
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society relies on the support of individuals, corporations and foundations to fund research and educational programs. Together, by making a contribution in honor or in memory of someone who has touched our lives, we can help provide additional resources to accelerate cures and fund research, patient services, education and community services. Over the last nine years, Joe has served on various LLS committees and USA Collision Centers has sponsored many of these community service events. In 2006 Joe had the honor of running for the Leukemia Society’s “Man of the Year”.
In 2012 and again in 2013 Joe has had the honor of being named Chairperson for the LLS "Man & Woman of the Year" campaign and gala.
In July of 2012, Joe was elected to the Board of Trustees for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In Memory of Annmarie
Sadly in July of 2009 Annmarie Sanfillipo lost her life to the Leukemia she had battled fiercely for six years. In Annmarie’s memory and to honor her "above and beyond" fighting spirit, USA Collision Centers annually awards one special staff member with the “Annmarie Sanfillipo 110% award”. This is the highest award that USA Collision Centers gives out at our annual awards banquet.
Helping our Furry Friends Find Forever Homes
The Hamilton County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, known more commonly as SPCA Cincinnati, has a long history of caring for animals and people. The organization's mission is, "SPCA Cincinnati is an animal shelter and humane society that continually strives to strengthen the human-animal bond and improve the welfare of animals by fostering the humane care and treatment of all animals.
Through humane education and animal protection, we improve the quality of life in our community." And for the past 140 years, dedicated staff, supported by devoted volunteers have joined to promote the humane treatment of animals. Joe Sanfillipo III of USA Collision Centers is a Board Member at SPCA Cincinnati and serves on the Development Committee.
"Knowing that our work helps to protect those who cannot speak for themselves, is very important," said Joe. "The animals we help need a second chance, and saving their lives is what our work at SPCA is all about."
The SPCA has a website where you can learn more about the animals and a variety of events where folks can help save more lives: www.spcacincinnati.org.
